This comment really has nothing to do with the John Mayer show, however, I searched all over on your official website for an email contact and couldn't find one, and I figured it wouldn't do much good to post a rant on your myspace page, and this will probably go totally unoticed as well- but I was so frustrated with the parking situation last Friday night for the Journey show that I had to vent somewhere.
You guys REALLY need to post on your site or on the tickets that you sell to your theater that if you want to see the opening act (in this case, my favorite band CHEAP TRICK) that you need to leave at least 5 or 6 hours before the showtime. Seriously, that was the WORST experience I have EVER had trying to get to a concert. I was really looking forward to taking my 12 year old son to see Cheap Trick again- we left our home in Pleasant Grove at 5:30- a full hour and a half before showtime. Well, little did we know that your venue has such TERRIBLE access/parking accesibility. We sat in the world's longest and most frustrating traffic jam, hoping beyond hope we would get there in time to see Cheap Trick's set. Nope- almost 3 hours later, right around 8 pm we pulled into that joke of a parking lot you have there, only to find we had miss CT's set by 20 minutes. Man, what a serious waste of time!!

I know this will probably fall on deaf ears, but you guys really need to rethink how you approach these shows, especially if you know that half the state is going to be attending. I for one will NOT be buying tickets to any shows at your theater again. C'mon guys- if you can't do anything about the problem, at least make people aware that they need to allow 3 hours prior to showtime to get to your theater!!!

Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and for responding. It's good to know that someone is listening and willing to help out. I would agree with you when you said that you have not had problems getting to the venue even with road construction, because I was stunned that it took so long for us to get there as well. In talking to other people about the experience, it seems like it commonly known that it is NOT easy to get into your venue for shows. We got onto I-15 from Pleasant Grove, then go onto the 215. We got off and there were basically 2 roads leading to your venue, and we were on both of them in completely dead stopped traffic. If I knew of an alternate route to take, I certainly would have tried it. I wish I had a solution to suggest but I don't. Maybe it was just a one time problem- I certainly hope so- but otherwise, I would suggest making it very clear on your website that it can take extra time to get in to popular shows.
Thanks again for the response, and I hope things will get better for future shows. Bring Cheap Trick back again to help lessen the sting of missing them!!
